Project status

Here is a tutorial for version 0.6.

It's not yet possible to write games easily, but the world generation should already be quite good.

Graphics engine

Implemented: Areas, drawing, text, animations, sounds.

Map editor

Implemented: Editing areas, editing objects, animations and sounds

Todo: More intuitive user interface, documentation.

Scripting system

Implemented: basic combinators, simple world

Not implemented: AI planning, skill system

Game dynamics

Some character scripting has been done for the town simulator.

Implemented: Moving around, picking up objects, talking

Not implemented: battles, simple tasks like eating and sleeping, tasks for professions, hissim events, selling stuff

Hissim

Implemented: children, adoption, marriage, communities, buildings, jobs, attributes, events, simple wars, artifacts, GEDCOM exporting, person states, genetic attributes

Not implemented: Templates for predefined persons, controlling the town sizes better

Town generation

Implemented: simple roads, obstacles, map generation

Not implemented: lakes, rivers

Schedule

Here are some optimistic thoughts about how the project should progress:
  • Summer 2004: Simple battles.
  • Fall 2004: Simple quests or something like that.

    Some old screenshots can be found here. The graphics in these shots are by WorldForge project and Pegasus from Ardanoldo project. The new graphics are pretty unimpressive, but they are easier to work with.
